Thanksgiving had a different quality this year because of the sad news of the death of Jerry Hicks. Esther sent out an honest, heartfelt letter that was full of both Abraham and humanness. And while I know about the eternal nature of us, and our connection to non-physical, it's hard to imagine Esther without Jerry at the front of the room during a workshop...on the road...writing, talking, asking questions...holding the space for so much energy. His warm and easy smile will be missed.
In his honor, I'm reprinting his "Recipe for Joy" with a promise to live it as best I can.
Recipe for Joy ~ Jerry Hicks
“Seek joy first and foremost
Seek reasons to laugh
Seek reasons to offer words of praise to self and others
Seek beauty in nature, beasts and other humans
Seek reasons to love in every segment of every day
Look for something that brings forth within you a feeling of love
Seek that which uplifts you
Seek opportunity to offer that which uplifts another
Seek a feeling of well being
Know that your value can only be measured in terms of joy
Acknowledge your absolute freedom to do any of these things or not do any of these things, for it is without exception your choice in every moment of every day.”
Thanks for posting the "Recipe for Joy" Sandi. It was sad to hear that Jerry has left us (in a physical sense). A great pioneer has left the world of Self Empowerment.
Blessings*
